Train Aid have been running the Level 3 Award in Education and Training Course (formerly PTLLS) since its formation in 2009. Tom who founded the business has a particular interest in further education, as his background stems from working as a Physical education teacher within London colleges.

Tom has overseen the change from the initial PTLLS program to the new Level 3 Award and he has taken pride in seeing many learners use the qualification as a stepping stone towards a career in teaching.

The new structure creates a clear pathway towards gaining a recognised teaching qualification.

  • The L3 Award course enables learners to hold unsupervised lessons in a subject area where they have direct experience.
  • This then qualifies them to enroll on the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training Course which is designed for those who hold a full or part time teaching / training job. The course centres around 30 hours of direct te aching practice, some of which is assessed.
  • It is then possible to complete the L5 Diploma EAT which is gives full teacher status. This may be looked at as the adult sector version of the PGCE and can lead to opportunities working as a teacher within FE colleges.

Below is a simplified list of where we run our courses, who your tutor will be and what the plan is going into 2015. Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us if you have any questions.
