Basic Life Support Training

Level 2 Basic Life Support (BLS) focuses on teaching a core set of life-saving techniques for conscious, unconscious, choking, and non-breathing casualties (including the AED).

This course follows the latest guidelines from the UK Resuscitation Council and is aligned with the Skills for Health framework.

About this course

BLS covers the key skills needed to keep a casualty alive during an accident or a major illness. Giving the learner the knowledge and confidence to handle a real-life emergency. Expect to learn the following topics:

  • Checking breathing 
  • Unconscious casualty 
  • Non-breathing casualty 
  • AED
  • Choking

Why this course?

Level 2 Basic Life Support should be taken if you require a basic understanding of first aid. This includes GP surgeries, NHS workers, dentists, sports coaches, and many other industries.

The qualification is valid for three years; however, some industries require an annual refresher to keep skills up to date.

The minimum age for this nationally recognised course is 16. Please note that younger learners can still complete a non-regulated equivalent if supervised by an adult.

You will be required to attend a 3-hour attendance session, which will be assessed through practical observation and multiple-choice questions.

A nationally recognised e-certificate is sent to your inbox upon successful completion of the classroom day of learning.

In-House

Price based on 12 students
Our in-house option lets you choose your own training date, with training hosted at your venue. A Train Aid instructor will visit your premises on the selected training date and provide all necessary equipment and resources.

When training larger groups, in-house training can be more cost-effective than sending individuals to classroom locations. 

Finally, we will send the nationally recognised e-certificates to your inbox upon successful completion of the course.

Please note this course is solely knowledge-based and is not a direct replacement for formal practical training (if required by your industry).

Upon enrolment, learners receive an email with a link to start the course. The course consists of four interactive modules that can be completed on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

The course concludes with a multiple-choice assessment. Learners receive an electronic certificate upon completion of all course elements.
