Food Safety Training (Level 2)

Level 2 food safety training prepares the food handler for working within the catering industry. The course should be completed by all food handlers working in a food premise within three months of starting work. 

This course is CPD accredited and once complete it is advised the course should be refreshed every three years.

About this course

Level 2 food safety explores the role of a food handler working within the catering industry. The food handler learns about their own responsibilities within the food premises and how to prevent outbreaks of food poisoning. 

There are four guided learning hours on the course covering the following sections:

  • Personal hygiene
  • Keeping work areas clean
  • Keeping food safe 
  • Food safety management systems

Individuals who complete Level 2 food safety will gain valuable knowledge on how to keep food safe from the effects of harmful bacteria. This newfound knowledge can lead to cleaner food premises, higher staff morale and happier customers.

This course is designed for high risk food handlers who are in day-to-day contact with food. It’s accompanied by a CPD certificate which proves competency in the field of food safety.

Upon enrollment learners are sent a link to start the course. Consisting of four interactive sections which include lectures, videos, puzzles and questions. On-going assessment takes place as learners navigate their way through the course. Concluding with a 20 question multiple choice assessment.

Level 2 food safety training can be completed on a desktop, tablet or smartphone. Learners have the opportunity to take breaks and come back to their work at any time. Automatically saving their progress each time.
