About this course

There are three components to this qualification:

  1. Speaking, listening and communication - learners must complete a presentation with Q&A and a group discussion.
  2. Reading - learners must complete 1 external written examination with the awarding body Highfield.
  3. Writing - learners must complete 1 external written examination with the awarding body Highfield.

The course guides you through all aspects of the exams and allows you to practise so you are fully exam ready.

This qualification is designed for learners that wish to develop their skills in English, either as an entry requirement to further study or to get the most out of everyday life.

Functional skills qualifications are recommended for learners over the age of fourteen.

Level 2 Functional Skills in English is a pre requisite for many qualifications in further education and the equivalent to GCSE English grade 4.
