About this course

The course content is split into 3 mathematical areas:
  1. Using numbers and the number system
  2. Using common measures, shape and space
  3. Handling information and data

The assessment for this qualification is external, meaning that it is facilitated externally by the awarding body Highfield Qualifications. 

There are two exams:
  1. the Calculator Test (1hr 50 minutes)
  2. the Non-calculator Test (40 minutes)




Why this course?

This Level 2 Numeracy qualification is for learners looking to refresh their mathematical skills or achieve the minimum standard required for further study.

It gives a great opportunity for mature learners that did not achieve Level 2 Numeracy at school to add this qualification to their resume. It is also popular with foreign learners, where English is not the their first language and they need a UK recognised Maths qualification. 

Level 2 Numeracy is a pre requisite for many further education qualifications and equivalent to GCSE grade C or 4.
